KPK interrogated Islamic Development Director of Religion Affair on Al Quran Procurement Case

Jakarta, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Director of Islamic Affairs and Islamic Guidance Directorate General of Islamic Guidance Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), Ahmad Jauhari.


Ahmad was questioned in the case of the Koran procurement investigation in 2010 and 2011 as well as the procurement of computers to madrasas tsanawiyah in 2011.

Underwent about eight hours,Jauhari confessed being asked by investigators  on procurement in the two projects mentioned above. But he denied involvement in the project's conspiracy.


"Asked about the procurement, but it was not. Still far," Jauhari said the KPK office, Jl Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Monday (23/07/2012).


In addition to investigating the procurement of Al-Quran and computer labs, the Commission is also investigating the budget discussion at the commission VIII. Even for the last principal case, the file is up to the level of investigation.

In the investigation, the Commission set a member of the Religious Affairs Committee House of Representatives from the Golkar Party, Zulkarnaen Djabar, and his son, Prasetya Dendy, Director of PT Karya Alam Synergy Indonesia, as a suspect.

Both are suspected of accepting bribes of Rp 4 billion procurement project Al-Quran in 2011 and 2012, and the computer lab project for 2010 in the Ministry of Islamic Religious tsanawiyah.

KPK in a press statement on Friday, June 29, 2012, stated,  Zulkarnaen is suspected having a role to drive an employee in the Ministry of Religious to make PT Adhi Aksara Abadi Indonesia as a partner of Al-Quran project in 2011.

He also directs the PT Sinergi Pustaka Indonesia as the winning bidder project 2012.(detik.com)
